Value: Scholarships are awarded to high school students at a value of $60,000($15,000 per year) and graduate students at a value of $40,000 ($20,000 per year).
All beneficiary must register or be registered in Acadia University and each beneficiary must possess an excellent credential and have a leadership history with community service and extracurricular activities.
Applicants are asked to submit a 500-word essay describing their interest in environmental science and the value of scientific and environmental research in making a significant difference to the world.
Note: All applicants should note that renewability conditions apply for each of the scholarships.
The Academy Review panel will however select and interview the successful applicants.The panel comprises Dr. Peter Ricketts, Acadia University President and Vice-Chancellor; Dr. David Kristie, Director of Research at the K.C. Irving Environmental Science Centre; and the Trustees of the Arthur Irving Academy, including Arthur, Sandra and Sarah Irving.
Shortlisted candidates should be ready for the interview as it will take place at Wolfville but those from outside of the Atlantic Provinces should not bother as theirs will be via skype or videoconference.
